Elvas was a great find for a quick overnight – it has a wonderful aqueduct and probably one of the best forts we have ever visited. Â The overnight was at a supermarket – really helpful that we get sewage, fresh and grey disposal for zilch!
We wandered around the town end then drove over to the fort which was a couple of km outside the town. A marvelous day exploring the fort and a great way to finish off our trip to Portugal. Â We read about the many conflicts between Spain and Portugal from the Portuguese perspective before heading 10km and into spain and Badajoz for the Spanish perspective!
