Another couple of thousand feet up (yes, we had to go back up another mountain to get to the pass into Spain) and into a 3km tunnel and we emerged in Spain!
A quick diesel stop and a chance for the brakes to cool down and and down the rest of the mountain into Ainsa – again with hot brakes!
The parking at Ainsa is not a formal camper stop but is listed as ‘Overnight parking tolerated’, so it’s stealth mode with the blinds down and everything shut up tight.
The town is a wonderful stone hilltop town where (surprisingly) none of the buildings are derelict. We just need to adjust our internal clocks now to allow for siesta time!
A brief cycle ride and that was our lot for the day.
